Wheel Balancing

Is your steering wheel pulling to the left or right while you drive?

You may need wheel balancing / alignment!

Wheel balancing aims to correct the uneven distribution of weight in your tire wheels. When you drive with unbalanced tires, it can definitely lead to excessive tire wear. Properly balanced wheels contribute to a smoother ride and help prolong the life of your vehicle tires. Remember to have your wheels balanced regularly to maintain optimal performance!

How Do We Know if Our Tires Need to be Balanced?

  1. Vibrations: You might need your tires balanced if you notice your steering wheel, seat or floorboard vibrates while driving at highway speeds, typically 45mph or higher.

  2. Uneven Tire Wear: Check your tire treads regularly. If you notice feathering (rounded edges on one side and sharp edges on the other), cupping (dips around the edge of the tread), or flat spots (rapid wear in a specific area), your front tires may be unbalanced.

  3. Increased Tire Noise: Unbalanced front tires can lead to more noticeable tire noise. Take note and listen for humming, thumping, or roaring.

Remember, addressing these symptoms promptly ensures optimal vehicle performance and safety. If you suspect unbalanced tires, consider having them balanced by a professional, ASE-certified technician. Visit our wheel balancing shop in Southaven MS!
